services

+ 1 TO 1 SERVICES

Highly-trained Direct Interventionists (DIs) work individually with your child to address targeted areas of need. This can include working to decrease tantrums, increase independence while setting the table, or sleeping in their own bed. We will help with what is meaningful for you.

+ PROGRAM SUPERVISION

Qualified Case Supervisors provide training and support to your family, 1 on 1 Direct Interventionists (DIs), and Parent Consultants (PCs) in order to assure we continue to provide the highest quality of intervention and that all needs continue to be met throughout any provided intervention.

+ PARENT CONSULTATION

Experienced professionals come alongside your family to help equip parents, siblings, or other caregivers in order to appropriately respond to and interact with your family member with special needs. We can “do life” with you in order to show you what to do, when to do it, and how to best support your entire family.

+ SOCIAL GROUPS

At times, skills need to be targeted with peers rather than just with a DI. Social groups provide the opportunity to work on developing social interactions with multiple peers-including those that are typically developing.

+ STAFF TRAINING

Onsite training for members of your organization (large or small) by our experts in Applied Behavioral Analysis.

+ FBA (Functional Behavior Assessment)

Skilled behavior analysts conduct interview, observation, and assessment in order to help you identify the causes of problem behavior. Based on these causes, a treatment plan is then created in collaboration with those that interact most with the individual.

+ Center Based Programs and Social Skills Opportunities

The center-based program focuses on cultivating essential school readiness skills while prioritizing social and communication development. Social groups are designed to foster friendships and enhance perspective-taking abilities through structured peer interactions.

+ PARENT TRAINING

Patterns provides practical training for parents both in person and online. These trainings help empower parents by providing them with the knowledge needed to provide appropriate intervention.

+ IEP SUPPPORT/EDUCATIONAL CONSULTING

Our Clinical Team includes clinicians with extensive experience working as teachers, specialists, and administrators in public schools. We can help you navigate through your child’s IEP and school experience in the educational setting.

+ CONSULTATION TO SCHOOOL DISTRICTS

Our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) can offer support and consultation to school district staff members in order to assist in assuring that Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) is being provided to students. Consultation can include staff training, provision of assessments, program development, and supervision.

+ 1 TO 1 SUPPORT IN SCHOOL

Highly-trained Direct Interventionists (DIs) work individually with your students to address targeted areas of need and implement the IEP with fidelity. This can include working to teach addition or subtraction, making friends, or to attend and respond to teacher directions. We work collaboratively with you and your IEP Team!

+ BCBA SUPERVISION

If you are seeking a dynamic experience in order to gain required supervision hours to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), we are glad to meet with you to discuss options for joining our Patterns Team.

+ Day Program- ages 2-5

Our developmental model of intervention combines developmental theory and evidence based practices from ABA to provide a naturalistic play based environment where children love to learn.

Contact us at (657) 444-9002 for a further explanation of the above services. We can have an in-depth conversation regarding the services and what would be appropriate given the needs and situation. It’s the “why” behind what we do that sets us apart-contact us so that we can demonstrate that to you, your family, or your organization.

We work with School Districts, Private Insurance Providers, and Medicaid.

Helen Kim-M.A, BCBA, LMFT, LPCC

Clinical Manager

With over 11 years of experience in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and nearly 9 years dedicated to Patterns, Helen Kim serves as the Lead Clinical Manager for Orange County. She received her BA at Mount Holyoke College and her Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. She currently holds licensure as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).

Helen is a BcBA who specializes in "dyadic" relationships (the unique bond between kids and their caregivers), making sure parents are active partners in the clinical journey rather than just bystanders. Being bilingual in English and Korean, Helen is passionate about providing culturally sensitive care, ensuring that every family feels heard, understood, and truly supported in their own language.

She was instrumental in launching the center-based program at the Brea Clinic, which provides a specialized, curriculum-based environment for children ages 3–5. Currently, she oversees early intervention services and mentors our team, providing the support our supervisors and staff need to grow through their professional development.

She is deeply committed to cultivating a professional environment where staff feel truly supported and heard. She loves seeing the positive impact our services bring, adding profound meaning to our clients' lives.

Nazafarin Honarpisheh-MD, BCBA

Nazafarin Honarpishe is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who works closely with children and adolescents with autism and related developmental needs.

Nazafarin holds a medical degree from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, which informs her broader understanding of child development and behavior. She earned a graduate certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of California, Santa Barbara and later became a BCBA. She subsequently completed both the Primary and Advanced workshops in the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) through UC Davis.

She has experience supporting individuals across a wide range of ages and developmental levels. In her role, she provides assessment, develops individualized treatment plans, supervises behavior technicians, and supports caregivers through training and guidance. She focuses on building meaningful, functional skills in communication, social interaction, and daily living, using a combination of structured and natural, play-based approaches tailored to each child. In previous roles, she also contributed to curriculum development and led social skills groups.

Nazafarin values collaboration with families and interdisciplinary teams to support meaningful progress and generalization of skills across settings. She especially appreciates working in an environment like Patterns Behavioral Services, where Behavior Technicians are well-trained and supported, and BCBA colleagues are knowledgeable, collaborative, and approachable. This team-based culture allows her to provide thoughtful, consistent care and meaningful support to clients and their families.

She believes each child has unique potential and finds meaning in partnering with families to support their child’s growth, skill development, and overall happiness.
